Sarah’s Personalised Family Wellington Boot Splashback

Sarah came to us looking for something very personal to finish off the large space behind her Rangemaster. Rather than choosing an existing design, she loved the idea of creating a family-themed splashback using Wellington boots, with each pair representing a different member of the family.

At 1100mm x 710mm, this was a lovely wide splashback with plenty of room to create a detailed design without it feeling overcrowded.

A splashback inspired by the whole family

Sarah told us a little about the three family members and the things that made each of them unique. Her husband is a maths enthusiast, Sarah loves flowers, while their child has a passion for history and space.

We used those interests as inspiration for the Wellington boots, creating three different pairs that each have their own personality. The floral boots bring a bright, cheerful touch to the design, while the other pairs incorporate subtle references to mathematics, history and space.

Rather than simply placing three pairs of boots next to one another, the aim was to make them feel like one complete family illustration. We added grass and small countryside details underneath the boots to bring the scene together and give the artwork a softer, more natural feel.

And we couldn't forget the dog

There was one more member of the family who deserved to be included too. A trail of little dog paw prints was added beside the Wellington boots, providing a subtle nod to the family dog and adding another personal detail to the finished splashback.

It is those small touches that can make a bespoke splashback feel particularly special. From the patterns on the boots to the tiny paw prints, every part of this design tells a little piece of the family's story.

Designed for a large Rangemaster

The finished splashback sits behind Sarah's Rangemaster and measures 1100mm wide by 710mm high. Because of the generous width, we were able to keep the family illustration nicely centred while leaving plenty of clean space around it.

The soft background also works beautifully with the light kitchen, wooden cabinetry and stainless steel cooker, allowing the Wellington boot artwork to stand out without dominating the room.

The finishing touch to Sarah's kitchen

Once the splashback had been installed, Sarah kindly sent us a photograph of the finished kitchen along with a lovely message:

“Thank you so much for our splashback. We are really thrilled with it and it finishes off the kitchen beautifully.”

We are delighted with how this one came together. It is a fantastic example of how a made-to-measure printed glass splashback can be turned into something completely personal rather than simply being another feature in the kitchen.
